Virtual Speech Language Pathologist | Canal Winchester Ohio Schools
VocoVision specializes in remote education staffing, and we're expanding our speech-language pathology network across Ohio! This virtual SLP opportunity offers the chance to serve students with communication disorders while enjoying autonomy, flexibility, and the convenience of working from home.
The Role
Manage a caseload of 48-55 students from kindergarten through eighth grade, providing 37.5 hours of weekly service. You'll address the full continuum of speech and language disorders: articulation errors, phonological processes, childhood apraxia, receptive language delays, expressive language deficits, pragmatic language challenges, fluency disorders, and voice concerns. Virtual delivery allows you to leverage technology in creative ways that enhance engagement and learning.
Your Typical Week
Direct therapy dominates your schedule - individual and small group sessions targeting specific IEP goals through structured activities, games, and exercises delivered via secure video platform. You'll use screen sharing to present visual supports, interactive whiteboards for sound practice, digital books for language targets, and specialized software that makes therapy fun and effective.
Evaluation activities punctuate therapy delivery. You complete referrals through a combination of standardized testing, language sampling, parent and teacher interviews, and dynamic assessment. Virtual administration requires adaptability but yields valid results when conducted by experienced clinicians. Your comprehensive reports describe present levels of performance, diagnostic impressions, and detailed recommendations.
IEP meetings happen throughout the year. You present evaluation results to teams, contribute to eligibility determinations, write appropriate goals, determine service delivery models and frequencies, and answer questions about communication development and intervention approaches. Your input helps teams understand how speech and language skills impact academic and social success.
Documentation and indirect services round out your responsibilities: progress notes, quarterly reports, annual reviews, consultation with teachers about classroom supports, parent communication about home practice, coordination with other service providers, and participation in problem-solving meetings.
