School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Calumet City, Illinois
A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2023-2024 school year in Calumet City, IL. This role serves a K-8 student population within a public school setting and is a full-time, contract position with onsite responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have the required Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and Speech-Language Pathologist credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders for students from early childhood through 8th grade
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal communication outcomes
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with district policies and state regulations
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of student support strategies
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois PEL and Speech-Language Pathologist licensure through IDFPR
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
- Experience working in a school-based environment with EC to middle school students
- Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage caseload and collaborate with school staff
Position Details:

- Contract duration: Immediate start through June 3, 2026
- Work schedule: Approximately 33.75 hours per week
- Onsite presence required (no remote or virtual options)
