Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist in Butler, PA
A dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in pediatrics to provide contract coverage in an elementary school setting located in Butler, Pennsylvania. This position offers full-time hours serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, focusing primarily on children with autism and intellectual disabilities.
Key responsibilities include managing speech therapy services for three classrooms of 20-24 students, implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), and advancing functional communication and social interaction skills. The role involves extensive use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to support expressive and receptive language goals. Collaboration with occupational and physical therapy staff is integral to enhance communication access and positioning, particularly for students with multiple disabilities or who are non-ambulatory.
Qualifications sought for this role:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Pennsylvania state licensure as an SLP
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Speech (Education Specialist or Instructional I acceptable)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances
- Experience working with AAC and autism populations is highly preferred
- Strong skills in teletherapy are advantageous
