School Speech Language Pathologist - Burnsville, North Carolina
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ communication development across three welcoming schools in the Burnsville, NC region. We’re seeking skilled Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with CCC certification to provide vital speech therapy services for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role offers the chance to work with a dynamic and diverse caseload, primarily serving K-5 students, with opportunities to support pre-K through 12th grade.
Role Details:
- Full-time contract: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Start: August 6, 2026 (teachers); students return August 17
- End: June 2, 2027
- Caseload: Approximately 40-50 students, primarily elementary
- Locations: Three local school sites, Head Start, and one private school
- Possible collaboration with an SLPA on-site
Desired Qualifications:
- Current North Carolina SLP license (CCC required)
- Experience with school-based caseloads, especially K-5; comfort with pre-K-12 a plus
- Ability to meet state DHHS Pre-K background check requirements
- Skilled in managing IEPs: writing present levels, goals, service times, and leading meetings for students qualifying under Speech Impairment
- Familiarity with ECATS for documentation and compliance
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in ECATS
- Develop and manage IEPs, participate in meetings, and track student progress
- Serve as case manager for students on a Speech Impaired-only IEP
- Coordinate with teachers, families, and support staff
