Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced and qualified Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) for part-time positions for the upcoming school year. This opportunity supports school districts in the Buena Vista, Virginia area and is ideal for professionals passionate about delivering high-quality virtual speech and language support to students.
Details:
- Location: Buena Vista, VA
- Part Time: 17 hours per week
- Caseload: K-12, conducting testing and evaluations. The district likes to discuss more details at the time of interview to see the best fit based on experience, including age group.
All candidates must meet local state and district qualifications, including:
- Completion of an accredited Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) program
- Active SLPA license issued by the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Reliable internet access and secure, HIPAA-compliant workspace
- Professional liability insurance
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Implement therapy plans and activities as directed by the supervising SLP
- Support students virtually in individual or small-group sessions
- Assist with documentation and tracking of student progress
- Participate in virtual team meetings and maintain communication with staff and families
- Adapt therapy activities to meet individual student goals and needs in an online environment
