Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Staten Island, NY
A bilingual Spanish-speaking Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide therapy services in a K-12 school setting in Staten Island, NY. This role is ideal for an experienced SLP with certification of clinical competence (CCC) and/or school certification, with a preference for bilingual Spanish fluency, though monolingual candidates will be considered. The position begins September 2, 2025, and follows a contract lasting the full school year.
Key Details:
- Location: Staten Island, NY (Bronx area services considered for bilingual candidates)
- Student Age Range: 6 years and older, with current caseload ages 8 to 16 years
- Work Schedule: 3 days per week, 25 hours total
- Session Scheduling: No sessions or push-ins to be held during P.E. classes under any circumstances
- Sessions: Two sessions weekly will include one regular session plus a make-up session to cover missed or backlogged services when appropriate
- Lunch and Prep: 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily; 45 minutes allocated for prep and paperwork that can be divided throughout the day or completed at once
- Additional sessions may arise based on new student intakes or finalized IEPs
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC and/or School-based certification)
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency preferred but not required
- Experience serving K-12 students with diverse communication needs
- Ability to manage scheduling complexities and maintain compliance with educational requirements
- Strong organizational skills for timely documentation and session preparation
Responsibilities include delivering tailored speech and language therapy services aligned with student IEPs, maintaining detailed records, communicating regularly with school staff, and adhering to scheduling restrictions to protect student activities.
