A contract opportunity is available for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized services within an educational setting in Ypsilanti, MI. This role will primarily support students in grades JK-4 across multiple buildings, with additional support for a small Communication Improvement (CI) program classroom consisting of eight students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students in grades JK-4, addressing a range of speech and language disorders.
- Provide services to the CI program classroom, tailoring therapy to meet the needs of eight students with specialized communication requirements.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings to coordinate student services and ensure compliance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion.
- Experience working as an SLP in school settings, preferably with early childhood and elementary-aged students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to manage caseloads across multiple buildings while maintaining quality service.
- Knowledge of special education laws and IEP development.
Contract Duration:
- May 1st through June 12th
