School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Brewer, Maine
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing speech-language pathology services within a school-based setting. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding experience serving a diverse PreK–12 population in a supportive educational environment. The position spans the academic year from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Each week, you’ll work 7-hour days, Monday through Friday, engaging with a caseload of approximately 10–15 students whose ages and needs vary across the education spectrum.
Your expertise will help students reach their communicative potential, and your adaptability will be key as you may travel between multiple school sites depending on caseload assignments. Collaboration with fellow educators, families, and related service professionals ensures a well-rounded approach to student growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly desired
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and best practices for serving PreK–12
- Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Reliable transportation for travel between school sites
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to assigned students
- Complete comprehensive evaluations and ongoing progress monitoring
- Develop and implement IEP goals in partnership with the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Support families and educators with strategies for student success
- Engage in professional development relevant to school-based SLP practice
