Key Responsibilities
As a School-Based SLP, your duties may include:

Conducting evaluations and assessments for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams.
-
Providing direct therapy services in individual and group settings.
-
Monitoring and documenting student progress, maintaining accurate service logs and records.
-
Participating in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning.
-
Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to support communication development and generalization of skills.

Ensuring all services comply with federal (IDEA), state, and district regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
All applicants must meet Washington state and local certification requirements, including:

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.

Current Washington State SLP License issued by the Washington State Department of Health.

Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate in SLP from the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred; Clinical Fellowship (CFY) applicants may also be considered.

Ability to pass required background checks, fingerprinting, and TB screening.

Previous school-based experience is preferred but not required for well-qualified applicants.
