This contract role covers the current school year, serving one school with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in specialty behavior management, particularly working with severe autism and behavioral disorders.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico license and PED credentials
- Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC)
- Demonstrated expertise in managing severe autism and complex behavioral challenges
- Experience working in educational settings with middle school students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy services tailored for students with severe autism and behavioral disorders
- Apply advanced behavior management techniques to support student progress
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in conjunction with educators and support staff
- Monitor and document student performance and behavioral interventions
- Coordinate with other professionals such as Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, or Recreational Therapists when applicable
