Caseload/Details:
- Located southwest of Albuquerque
- The Magdalena School operates on a 4-day week, primarily Monday through Thursday.
- Caseload primarily includes Preschool and Elementary students.
- Number of Positions: 1
Special Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology from the New Mexico Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board or eligibility to immediately apply for this license.
- Licensure with the New Mexico Public Education Department or eligibility to immediately apply for this license.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential in-person services to Preschool and Elementary students within the Magdalena School, located southwest of Albuquerque. This part-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the communication skills of young learners within a supportive school environment. You will work 2 days per week, with 7-hour workdays, and receive additional compensation for drive time to and from the Magdalena area, as well as mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations for Preschool and Elementary students.
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and therapy plans to address a variety of communication needs.
- Providing direct, in-person therapy services to students based on their IEP goals.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, school administrators, and other educational team members within the Magdalena School District.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required reports.
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing valuable SLP expertise.
- Adhering to all New Mexico state and local regulations and ethical guidelines for Speech-Language Pathology.
