A special education program is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students aged 18 to 22 in an engaging transition program designed to help them develop the skills necessary for independent community participation. This contract position is based in an elementary school setting located in Bolingbrook, IL, with in-person responsibilities from August 18, 2025, through June 2, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy services to students within the special education co-op program.
- Develop and implement targeted intervention plans to support communication and social skills development.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support across settings.
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes according to program guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and assist with transition planning for students approaching adulthood.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois professional license in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
- Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Experience working with transition-age students or within special education programs preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to providing in-person services and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Work Schedule and Setting:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- On-site work at an elementary school in Bolingbrook, IL.
- Contract duration from August 18, 2025, through June 2, 2026.
