School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Independence, Missouri
An opportunity is available for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), Clinical Fellow (CF), or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide specialized services at an early childhood center in Independence, MO. This role focuses on working with a caseload of approximately 35 students diagnosed with autism within a specialized program, offering a rewarding experience supporting communication development in young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy tailored to the needs of students with autism
- Utilize Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices as part of therapy when appropriate
- Collaborate with early childhood educators and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintain detailed documentation and reports in compliance with standards
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
- Current Missouri SLP license is required (Clinical Fellows and SLPAs with appropriate supervision are welcome)
- Experience or comfort working with young children, particularly those on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with AAC devices is highly beneficial
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and dedication to onsite work hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Location: Independence, Missouri (onsite at an early childhood center)
Employment Type: Contract position through the end of the school year (May 28th), with a possibility of extension.
