Pediatric SLP in Johnson City, NY
An opportunity is available for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services within a K-12 public school setting in Johnson City, NY. This position is a contract role spanning the current school year (CSY) with a full-time schedule, primarily supporting students in grades K-5 at a designated elementary school. The role offers an engaging environment to impact pediatric populations through both direct and indirect therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech-language pathology services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to students within the school district.
- Utilize teletherapy methods as appropriate to support student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation within the district’s IEP system with provided training.
- Participate in paid team meetings and administrative time consistent with district policy.
- Provide supervision if qualified, or collaborate with district supervisors as needed.
- Travel as required between assigned school sites within the district.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Current teaching certification in SLP preferred.
- Fingerprinting clearance compliant with state regulations.
- Experience working with pediatric populations in schools or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with caseload management in a school environment.
- Teletherapy proficiency is a plus.
- Previous clinical fellowship year (CFY) experience is desirable for some openings.
