Job Details: Onsite near Bessemer, AL
Pay Range: $44+/hr (depending on experience)
- Full 2025-2026 School Year
- Full time position(s)
- Will consider a part time candidate
- August 2025 - May 2026
- District will renew candidate contracts if the candidate is a good fit for the position
- Caseloads vary, will consider candidate preference of age group if interested
- Grade levels range from PreK-12th grade
- 1 or multiple school site (mileage can be reimbursed between school sites. Site will be determined after interview and based on candidate location)

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine eligibility for special education services and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide individual and group therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, targeting goals outlined in their IEPs.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support communication skills in the classroom and school community.
- Participate in district-wide initiatives to promote positive school climate, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.
- Provide training and support to teachers and other school staff regarding strategies to support students with speech and language disorders.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Alabama state licensure as an SLP and certification of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Strong knowledge of current theories, research, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrated cultural competence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
