Providing Speech-Language Pathology services in an early childhood education setting within the Portland, OR area offers a unique opportunity to support children ages 3 to 5 in their developmental milestones. This contract position focuses primarily on Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) within community preschools and family homes, emphasizing direct intervention in natural environments without clinic-based services. The role involves delivery of services through a caseload/workload model across Multnomah County, operating within small, region-based teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy to preschool-aged children in homes and community preschool settings.
  • Collaborate with families, preschool staff, and multidisciplinary teams to support individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Manage case documentation and participate in paid team meetings and indirect administrative time.
  • Provide services Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including some required travel within the assigned regions.
  • Ensure compliance with district guidelines and contribute to a positive developmental environment for children.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Oregon SLP license required.
  • Experience working with early childhood populations in Special Education recommended.
  • Ability to navigate community environments, including home and preschool settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families and educational staff.
  • Familiarity with IEP systems and caseload/workload models preferred.

Location:

  • Primarily serving families and preschools in Southwest Portland within Multnomah County.
  • Additional service areas include Gresham, Beaverton, and Hillsboro, OR.
