SLP in Bel Air, MD
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are needed to provide essential therapy services across K-12 educational settings within the Baltimore area. These contract positions focus on delivering support to preschool, elementary, and middle school students, with opportunities to extend into Extended School Year (ESY) programming during summer 2026. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity based on assignment, requiring on-site presence with no remote or hybrid work options.
Locations and Assignments:
- Community Preschool (Itinerant) – preschool students attending community-based programs, 5 days per week.
- Magnolia Elementary & Prospect Mill Elementary – elementary students (PreK through 5th grade); coverage split with Magnolia 3 days/week and Prospect Mill 2 days/week.
- Aberdeen Middle School – middle school students (6th through 8th grade), includes supervision of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). Part-time position with potential for 5-day coverage.
Schedule and Duration:
- Position 1: Starting by 12/1/2025 or prior to Thanksgiving, through 1/9/2026 (potential for additional coverage).
- Position 2: 2/16/2026 – 5/29/2026, full-time Monday through Friday, with an option to extend into ESY (4 weeks in July 2026).
- Position 3: 3/16/2026 – 6/18/2026, Monday through Thursday (part-time 30 hours) with option to make full 5-day coverage; includes support supervision responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland professional licensure for Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Experience working with preschool, elementary, and middle school-aged children in school settings preferred.
- Ability to provide supervision to SLPA staff when assigned.
- Reliable transportation for itinerant assignments.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working within multidisciplinary educational teams.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Supervise and mentor SLPA staff where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reporting.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to support student success.
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the diverse needs of students across developmental levels.
