School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Aurora, Illinois
Providing Speech-Language Pathology services within a K-12 special education cooperative, this contract position focuses on maternity leave coverage spanning multiple school locations in the Aurora, IL area. The role offers an opportunity to work with students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities in structured learning environments, contributing to their communication development and educational progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy to students in self-contained classrooms within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program.
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Support students across multiple classroom settings, managing a caseload of approximately 3-4 classrooms with 6-8 students each.
- Adapt intervention techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with autism and intellectual disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement.
- Active Illinois Speech License.
- Open to candidates who are currently completing Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY) or licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs).
- Experience working in school-based special education settings preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Assignment Details:
- Locations include classrooms in Clarendon Hills, Willowbrook, Downers Grove, and Westmont, IL.
- Contract length: Approximately January 26, 2026 through June 5, 2025, aligning with school leave schedules.
- Full-time, 35-37.5 hours per week.
