SLP in Aurora, IL
A position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a K-12 school setting within a special education cooperative serving multiple districts in the Aurora, IL area. This full-time contract role is expected to run from ASAP through approximately late May 2025, with potential placements at various schools in surrounding communities.
Location: Multiple locations including Villa Park, Addison, Westmont, and Downers Grove, IL
Job Details:
- Work primarily within Structured Learning Environment (SLE) classrooms dedicated to students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities
- Caseload typically includes 3-4 self-contained classrooms, each with 6-8 students
- Hours range from 35 to 37.5 per week
- Services delivered in person; virtual work is not available
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Valid Speech License in Illinois
- Candidates at various levels of experience are welcome, including SLPs with Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status and SLPAs
- Experience or skills working within school or healthcare settings preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment and intervention services tailored to each student’s communication needs
- Collaborate with educational staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain clear documentation and communication with families and team members
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques for students with complex needs
