Contract: Full-time | Employer: Blazer Jobs (school-based placement)
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time position with school districts in the Aurora, IL area. This role provides the opportunity to support students’ communication development and success in both academic and social settings.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Illinois state regulations.

Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in small groups.
-
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student growth and carry over strategies across environments.

Utilize evidence-based practices and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.
-
Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and IEP compliance.
-
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and school-based professional development.
Required Qualifications (State & Local Compliance)
Applicants must meet all Illinois and district requirements, including:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.
-
Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) License for Speech-Language Pathology.
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered if district-approved.

Completion of Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and district background checks and fingerprint clearance.

Health and immunization clearances as required by the district.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior school-based experience supporting elementary or secondary caseloads.

Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of diverse intervention strategies and familiarity with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
