Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) — Aurora, IL Area
Contract: Full-time | Employer: Blazer Jobs (school-based placement)

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time position with school districts in the Aurora, IL area. This role provides the opportunity to support students’ communication development and success in both academic and social settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Illinois state regulations.

  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in small groups.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student growth and carry over strategies across environments.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and IEP compliance.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and school-based professional development.

Required Qualifications (State & Local Compliance)

Applicants must meet all Illinois and district requirements, including:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.

  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) License for Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered if district-approved.

  • Completion of Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and district background checks and fingerprint clearance.

  • Health and immunization clearances as required by the district.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior school-based experience supporting elementary or secondary caseloads.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of diverse intervention strategies and familiarity with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
