A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to provide specialized services within a K-12 educational setting near Athens, AL. This contract position spans a full semester and involves filling maternity leave roles supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade in two separate schools.
Position 1: Johnson Elementary School
- Duration: January 12, 2026 – March 27, 2026
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Student Age Range: Kindergarten through 5th grade
- Caseload Size: 50 to 55 students, including service delivery and case management duties
- Special Population: Includes support for an 04 LRE Autism classroom
- Holidays Observed: January 19, February 16, March 12–20
Position 2: Sugar Creek Elementary and West Limestone High School
- Duration: March 23, 2026 – May 21, 2026
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Student Age Range: 3rd through 12th grade
- Caseload Size: 50 to 55 students, including service delivery and case management duties
- Special Populations: Includes an 04 LRE Autism classroom and an 04 LRE multi-needs room
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license with CCC credentials preferred
- Experience in educational settings with K-12 populations
- Ability to manage caseloads of approximately 50+ students, including those with autism and multiple special needs
- Strong communication and documentation skills for case management
- Flexibility and professionalism to coordinate across multiple school environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students within the assigned caseload
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in meetings and provide input on student progress and needs
