Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to a caseload of approximately 58 students, ranging from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.
- Collaborate with one other SLP to divide caseload responsibilities in a way that best serves student needs, with caseload management autonomy.
- Conduct assessments primarily on Fridays, with therapy sessions Monday through Thursday.
- Utilize school-based and virtual therapy techniques, adapting to diverse learning environments.
- Manage case documentation including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), with experience in PowerSchool considered a strong asset.
- Work alongside paraeducators who assist with student transitions to therapy sessions.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and school policies, with preference for those familiar with Alabama laws and holding an active Alabama license.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology and comfort with virtual service delivery.
- Knowledge of Alabama laws and procedures related to school-based therapy preferred.
- Ability to work within a set school schedule starting at 7:45 am CST.
- Strong organizational skills to handle case management and IEP preparation.
Location & Schedule:
- Based in Athens, Alabama within an elementary and middle school (PreK-8).
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (with Friday dedicated to assessment).
- Contract through May 22, 2026.
