Join a dynamic educational environment in Athens, AL, serving elementary through 8th grade students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This full-time contract position runs through the current school year, providing essential speech therapy services in a supportive school setting focused on student progress and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language therapy to a caseload of approximately 58 students, ranging from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.
  • Collaborate with one other SLP to divide caseload responsibilities in a way that best serves student needs, with caseload management autonomy.
  • Conduct assessments primarily on Fridays, with therapy sessions Monday through Thursday.
  • Utilize school-based and virtual therapy techniques, adapting to diverse learning environments.
  • Manage case documentation including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), with experience in PowerSchool considered a strong asset.
  • Work alongside paraeducators who assist with student transitions to therapy sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and school policies, with preference for those familiar with Alabama laws and holding an active Alabama license.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathology Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
  • Experience in school-based speech-language pathology and comfort with virtual service delivery.
  • Knowledge of Alabama laws and procedures related to school-based therapy preferred.
  • Ability to work within a set school schedule starting at 7:45 am CST.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle case management and IEP preparation.

Location & Schedule:

  • Based in Athens, Alabama within an elementary and middle school (PreK-8).
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday (with Friday dedicated to assessment).
  • Contract through May 22, 2026.
