Two Speech-Language Pathologists are needed for a full-time contract position supporting students from PreK through 8th grade at an elementary school in Athens, AL. This opportunity begins at the start of the January semester and runs through May 22, 2026, with a flexible schedule designed to maximize direct therapy and evaluation time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 58 students, with a focus on individualized treatment and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborating with another SLP to divide caseloads and coordinate therapy sessions without direct supervision.
  • Conducting assessments and managing IEPs, including documentation and follow-ups using systems such as PowerSchool.
  • Providing therapy primarily Monday through Thursday, using Fridays for assessments and administrative tasks.
  • Working with para-educators who assist with student transitions to therapy sessions.
  • Ensuring compliance with educational standards and state laws regarding speech-language services in schools.

Candidates should have:

  • A current Alabama speech-language pathology license.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Experience delivering services within school settings and familiarity with virtual therapy platforms.
  • Knowledge of Alabama education laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Strong case management skills and experience with IEP development and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within an educational team environment.
