This opportunity begins at the start of the January semester and runs through May 22, 2026, with a flexible schedule designed to maximize direct therapy and evaluation time.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering speech and language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 58 students, with a focus on individualized treatment and progress monitoring.
- Collaborating with another SLP to divide caseloads and coordinate therapy sessions without direct supervision.
- Conducting assessments and managing IEPs, including documentation and follow-ups using systems such as PowerSchool.
- Providing therapy primarily Monday through Thursday, using Fridays for assessments and administrative tasks.
- Working with para-educators who assist with student transitions to therapy sessions.
- Ensuring compliance with educational standards and state laws regarding speech-language services in schools.
Candidates should have:
- A current Alabama speech-language pathology license.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Experience delivering services within school settings and familiarity with virtual therapy platforms.
- Knowledge of Alabama education laws and regulations is preferred.
- Strong case management skills and experience with IEP development and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an educational team environment.
