Job Description: We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in the Leesburg, VA area. You'll provide comprehensive speech and language services, with a primary focus on early intervention ages (2-12 years old) and a diverse range of disabilities. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to student growth, eager to collaborate effectively with educators and parents, and contribute positively to our vibrant school community.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students to determine eligibility for services.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups. You'll address a variety of communication needs, including articulation, phonology, language, fluency, voice, and social communication.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school personnel to support student success in the classroom and at home.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program (e.g., ASHA CAA accredited).
- Valid Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility for licensure in Virginia). This is a key state-level requirement for practicing SLPs in public schools.
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply! We offer supervision and support as you pursue your Virginia license and ASHA CCC-SLP.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred, demonstrating a higher level of professional standing.
- Experience working with school-aged children (ages 2-12) and varying disabilities is highly preferred, especially with early intervention populations.
- Solid knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Virginia-specific guidelines related to IEP development.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations, interpret results, and write thorough reports.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing measurable IEP goals and objectives, and effectively monitoring progress.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, schedules, and documentation.
