Speech and Language Pathologist in Denver, CO
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in the northern suburbs of Denver, Colorado. This role is based at a Pre K through 8th grade academy serving approximately 40 students with mild to moderate speech and language needs, including about 10 preschoolers. The position involves conducting evaluations, documenting service notes, and providing direct therapeutic minutes to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students ranging from Pre K to 8th grade
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focused on mild to moderate communication disorders
- Maintain accurate service notes and progress documentation
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student communication goals
- For candidates holding Clinical Fellow (CF) status, onsite supervision is provided
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) credential preferred; candidates in progress must disclose their status
- Experience working within school settings is a plus
- New graduates and tenured clinicians are encouraged to apply; supervision available for Clinical Fellows
- This district does not accept SLPA or VOCO/COTA providers
Location:
- Position located at Explore Academy, 10310 York St., Thornton, CO 80229, within a smaller district comprised of 16 sites serving roughly 7,000 students
District Hiring Process:
- Two-step interview process starting with a 15-30 minute screening with the director of integrated services (via Teams)
- Followed by a 30-45 minute panel interview, preferably in-person although virtual accommodations may be considered
- Prescreen interviews typically scheduled on Mondays and Fridays
