School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Fairfax, Virginia
A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (VASLP) is needed for a full-time, itinerant K-8 school-based position in Fairfax, VA. This contract role covers extended FMLA services within a public school district, requiring travel to multiple school sites. Candidates must hold a valid and active Virginia SLP license to be considered. Experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) with at least two years of school-based experience may also be considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Virginia SLP license (required; license verification needed)
- Minimum two years of school-based speech therapy experience preferred
- For SLPA candidates, strong school experience with a minimum of 2 years
- Ability to provide itinerant services, traveling to various schools within the district
- Excellent communication and organizational skills relevant to educational settings
Location:
- Itinerant role, serving multiple K-8 schools within Fairfax, VA area
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to students with speech or language impairments in compliance with district policies
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of students in a school setting
- Attend virtual interviews and coordinate with district representatives as required
