This part-time position offers an opportunity to provide specialized support in a K-12 school setting located in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on delivering assistive technology (AT) consultation and support, averaging 5-8 hours per month. Responsibilities include conducting AT assessments and assisting students with troubleshooting to enhance their educational experience. Ideal candidates will have experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) within school environments and possess a strong understanding of assistive technology applications relevant to student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assistive technology assessments to evaluate student needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Provide troubleshooting support and training for students using AT devices
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate AT into individual education programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust AT strategies as needed to optimize communication and learning
- Maintain accurate documentation for all assessments and consultations
- Support compliance with school policies and federal regulations related to assistive technology and speech-language services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification and experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in K-12 school settings
