School Speech Therapist - Arlington Heights, Illinois
A contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students from Early Childhood through 12th grade during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This role is based in Arlington Heights, IL, and requires in-person work.
This opportunity runs from June 15, 2026, through July 26, 2026, with a Monday through Thursday schedule. Typical hours are 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with the exception of the first and last day when hours extend until 3:15 p.m. Multiple positions are available to support a diverse student population. Please note this role is exclusively for fully licensed SLPs holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and Illinois license to practice in schools. Use of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows (CFs) is not permitted.
Key qualifications and requirements:
- Valid Illinois SLP license for school-based practice (IL PEL)
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience working with students from Early Childhood to 12th grade
- Ability to provide therapy in-person and adhere to ESY schedule
- Must be able to commit to full contract dates and hours without exception
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to students with diverse communicative needs
- Collaborate with educational staff to create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Track and document student progress in compliance with school and state standards
- Participate effectively in ESY program planning and wrap-up
