Contract Type: Current school year, with the potential for renewal based on performance
Qualifications – State and Local Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Louisiana state and district qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
-
Active Louisiana Speech-Language Pathologist License through the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (LBESPA)
-
Valid Louisiana Department of Education Ancillary Certificate for school-based positions
-
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFY) may be considered
-
Prior experience in a K–12 school setting is highly preferred
-
Must successfully pass background checks and district hiring requirements
Typical Responsibilities:
-
Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders
-
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
-
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings
-
Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support academic progress
-
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain detailed records and progress reports
-
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
