A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for a contract assignment at an elementary school in Apopka, FL, serving students from PreK through 5th grade. This role involves supporting a diverse caseload of approximately 60-65 students, including those with speech/language impairments, intensive support needs, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and students using communication devices. The position requires collaboration with another SLP in a shared workspace, fostering a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech-language therapy services to students with a range of disabilities
  • Collaborate with staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Utilize communication devices and augmentative strategies as needed
  • Maintain required documentation and compliance with district guidelines

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a valid Florida Department of Health license for speech-language pathology
  • Professional license in speech-language pathology
  • Experience working with preschool and elementary-aged children preferred
  • Ability to address diverse speech and language disorders in an educational setting
  • Bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory

Location and Schedule:

  • On-site assignment at an elementary school serving Lake County School District
  • Scheduled for five days per week, approximately 37.5 hours weekly
  • Contract duration from February 23, 2026, through May 29, 2026
