Virtual AAC Specialist Minnesota School Districts
We’re hiring a Virtual AAC Specialist to support students in Minnesota schools who use augmentative and alternative communication systems. This 1099 role focuses on assessment, device training, and ongoing support through a telepractice model. Ideal candidates have experience in both high- and low-tech AAC solutions.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate students for AAC needs via remote tools and collaboration.

Recommend appropriate AAC systems based on student profiles.

Train staff and families on device usage.

Create individualized communication boards or digital layouts.

Support integration of AAC into academic routines.

Provide therapy to develop functional and expressive AAC skills.

Document progress and adjust AAC plans as needed.

Coordinate with AT specialists and district tech teams.

Write IEP goals specific to AAC usage.

Deliver virtual in-services on AAC best practices.

Participate in multi-disciplinary evaluations.

Ensure vendor and funding compliance for device acquisition.

Monitor device usage and troubleshoot issues remotely.

Promote student independence in AAC communication.

Comply with IDEA and Section 504 accessibility guidelines.

VOCOVISION Requirements
· Must have a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
· Contractors must provide your their own liability insurance
· Comfortable being an independent contractor (1099)
· Home computer with high internet speed
· Passed basic tech screening
Interview Process:
- 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
- 20-30 minute Virtual Interview with the School District
- Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
