Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Job Duties

Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing therapy services to students

Implement therapy activities and individualized plans under the supervision of an SLP

Support students in developing speech, language, and communication skills

Document student performance and report progress to supervising SLPs

Prepare therapy materials and maintain organized records

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Federal and State Requirements
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies or related field
-
Current Alaska SLPA license or eligibility required
-
Supervision by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist as mandated by state law
-
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Alaska school districts
