School Speech Therapist | Amherst, Massachusetts
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in AAC services within a K-12 educational setting. This part-time to potential full-time role focuses on supporting students in a profound autism program and general special education population.
Location:
- Ludlow, MA (Primary site: profound autism program)
- Additional services at Brush Hill campus
- Client’s main office is in West Springfield, MA
Duration:
- February 2, 2026 – June 23, 2026
- Extended Summer ESY (Extended School Year) work may be offered based on performance during the school year
Weekly Hours:
- Approximately 20 hours per week initially, with opportunity to increase to full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) evaluations and provide AAC-focused therapy services
- Deliver direct speech-language services to students primarily in the profound autism program and some general special education students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting in accordance with school policies
- Participate in program meetings and contribute to student communication goals
Required Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Extensive experience with AAC evaluations and therapeutic interventions
- Ability to provide in-person services only; no remote work options
- Background working with profound autism and special education populations is highly preferred
