Full-Time SLP Role Support Communication Skills in Akron City Schools
Akron City Schools is actively hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help students build essential communication skills that drive academic and social success. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a collaborative and dedicated educational team.
Position Overview:
As an SLP, you will evaluate student needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver interventions that address a variety of speech and language challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct speech-language assessments and prepare detailed evaluation reports

Develop and implement therapy plans based on IEP goals
-
Address articulation, fluency, receptive/expressive language, and pragmatics
-
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
-
Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations and updates
-
Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with district and state requirements
Required Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
-
Active Ohio SLP License
-
Ohio Department of Education Certification for School-Based SLPs
-
ASHA CCC preferred
-
School-based or pediatric experience a plus
-
Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills

Type: Full-time, onsite

Schedule: Monday–Friday during school hours

Caseload: K–12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
