Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist in Abbeville, LA
A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Certification of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) servicing a middle school setting near Lafayette, LA. This role involves working 2.5 days per week with approximately 30 students, primarily providing services in a school environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for middle school students requiring speech-language therapy.
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques tailored to students’ needs across various speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress and communication skills.
- Provide compensatory services as needed to meet student goals.
- Document student performance and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) required.
- Experience working in pediatric, school-based speech therapy.
- Ability to manage caseload effectively within a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
