Soliant Health Schools - Audiologist Contract Today Apply

Soliant connects licensed audiologists with remote educational programs serving students with hearing loss across New Mexico. We're building a network of qualified professionals ready to provide comprehensive audiological services in virtual school settings where hearing access directly impacts academic achievement.

Position Overview

This remote audiology role serves students from preschool through high school in a fully virtual educational format. Audiologists typically work 35-37.5 hours per week, providing hearing assessments, technology management, and consultation services for a caseload of approximately 40-50 students. You'll work independently while collaborating with special education teams, teachers, and families to ensure students with hearing loss receive appropriate supports for academic success.

Virtual audiology services require strong clinical skills combined with technological proficiency. You'll conduct remote hearing screenings and assessments, monitor hearing aid and cochlear implant function through parent consultation and observation, provide troubleshooting support for assistive listening devices, consult with educational teams about classroom acoustics and accommodations, and maintain comprehensive documentation of audiological services and student hearing status.

Key Responsibilities

Your clinical expertise ensures students maintain optimal hearing access throughout their school day. Daily responsibilities include reviewing audiological reports and updating educational teams on hearing status changes, consulting with parents about hearing technology maintenance and troubleshooting, conducting functional listening assessments in virtual learning environments, recommending accommodations based on audiological needs and classroom demands, and collaborating with teachers to optimize acoustic environments for students with hearing loss.

Educational consultation forms a significant component of school audiology. You'll participate in IEP meetings to discuss hearing-related educational needs, provide professional development to staff about hearing loss and communication strategies, evaluate requests for assistive technology and recommend appropriate devices, coordinate with clinical audiologists regarding students' medical audiology care, and advocate for classroom modifications that improve listening conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • State Licensure: Current New Mexico audiology license in good standing
  • Degree: Master's degree in Audiology (Au.D. preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years providing audiology services in school settings
  • Certification: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred
  • Technical Setup: Reliable high-speed internet, professional webcam, quality audio equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Educational audiology experience strengthens your ability to serve students effectively. Candidates with pediatric audiology backgrounds, familiarity with educational audiology best practices and federal regulations, experience with diverse hearing technologies including hearing aids and cochlear implants, knowledge of classroom acoustics and FM/DM system management, and understanding of IEP processes and special education frameworks bring valuable expertise to virtual school teams.

Work Environment

Remote audiology practice requires dedicated professional workspace with appropriate privacy for student consultations, minimal background noise for audio assessments, professional video presentation for family meetings and team consultations, and secure documentation systems compliant with FERPA and HIPAA requirements. Strong organizational skills and self-direction enable you to manage caseload responsibilities, schedule evaluations and consultations efficiently, and maintain timely communication with educational teams across multiple schools.

What Sets Strong Candidates Apart

Exceptional school audiologists combine clinical expertise with educational partnership skills. The ability to translate complex audiological information for parents and educators, proactive approach to identifying and resolving hearing access barriers, comfort providing consultation and training to educational staff, experience coordinating care between medical and educational audiology providers, and commitment to staying current with hearing technology advances and educational audiology practices distinguish outstanding candidates.
