Role Summary
As a school-based Audiologist in Chesapeake, Virginia, you will develop and lead an audiology services program within the district. This role includes conducting hearing evaluations, supporting students with hearing-related needs, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams. Travel between schools may be required, as exams will be performed on-site. Compensation is based on experience.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a district-wide audiology program
• Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations for students at various school sites
• Provide recommendations for hearing supports, devices, and classroom accommodations
• Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
• Support development of IEPs and participate in student meetings when needed
• Maintain documentation, reports, and compliance with district and state requirements
• Offer training and resources to school staff on hearing health and classroom strategies
Requirements
• Doctoral degree (PhD or AuD) in Audiology
• Active Virginia audiology licensure or eligibility
• Experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred
• Ability to travel between schools within the district
• Strong organizational and communication skills
