Our school district in Chicago, IL is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist in our school district, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop their communication skills and succeed academically.
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist
Location: Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language disorders in students.
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students both individually and in group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication needs within the classroom environment.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy goals and strategies as required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language goals.
- Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and guidance to teachers and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
