Job Description: Blazer Jobs, in partnership with the local school district, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time position during the 2023-2024 school year in Chicopee, MA. If you are passionate about supporting students' communication development and enhancing their overall educational experience, we invite you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting assessments and screenings
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to implement speech and language interventions
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Participate in professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Massachusetts State Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
