School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Manassas, VA
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Support the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by the Speech-Language Pathologist to address students' communication needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist, both in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom and facilitate students' overall development.
- Assist in monitoring student progress, maintaining documentation, and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
- Virginia state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting or with pediatric populations is advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
