Job Description:
As a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with our district, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome communication disorders and improve their overall communication skills. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders. This is a full-time position with options for professional support and competitive pay.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' communication needs
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success
- Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided and student progress
- Participate in school meetings, IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, and other team meetings as required
- Stay current on best practices and evidence-based interventions in the field of speech-language pathology
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid Alabama state licensure or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification or eligibility for certification
- Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
