School-base Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

We're in search of a qualified Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team and collaborate with a school district in Chicago Ridge, IL. This exciting opportunity is for the current school year with posisble renewal for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The position entails possibly working with students from 1st to 8th grade.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field.
- Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification in the state of Illinois.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and evidence-based practices.
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education in the field of speech language pathology.
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in conducting screenings, assessments, and evaluations to determine students' communication needs.
- Implement speech and language therapy interventions under the guidance and supervision of SLPs.
- Provide individual or small group therapy sessions to students based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or as directed by SLPs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate therapy goals into students' academic and social environments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, session notes, and therapy plans.
- Assist in the development of materials and resources to support speech and language goals in the classroom.
