Blazerjobs is delighted to partner with the local school district in Manassas, VA to fill a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to provide direct therapy services and support to students with communication disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy activities and interventions as directed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Provide individual and small group therapy sessions to students with speech and language disorders, targeting areas such as articulation, phonology, fluency, and language skills.
- Assist in the development of therapy materials and resources, adapting activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collect data on student progress and behavior during therapy sessions, ensuring accuracy and completeness for analysis.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to support the integration of therapy goals into academic and functional activities.
- Participate in team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, to review student progress and contribute to the development of intervention plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student therapy sessions and progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field.
- Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
