Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist in Helotes, TX
Providing specialized speech-language pathology services within an inpatient rehabilitation setting, this opportunity focuses on treating patients requiring rehabilitative therapy. This contract role is based in Helotes, TX, at a 32-bed inpatient rehab unit within a well-equipped hospital.
Location Highlights:
Situated at a major healthcare campus, this inpatient rehab unit boasts access to advanced therapeutic equipment and a supportive multidisciplinary team composed of approximately 35 therapists and 50 nurses. The facility provides a collaborative environment where speech-language pathologists work closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide interventions focused on activities of daily living (ADLs) and other inpatient rehab therapies.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to address patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR.
- Flexibly adjust schedules to support unit needs, including weekend shifts (minimum 2 per 4-week period).
- Adhere to established unit policies, including dress code (black pants, olive scrub top) and certification requirements.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation processes and procedures is mandatory.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Prior inpatient rehab experience preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends as required.
- BLS certification required.
