Contract Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for 2024-2025 school year

ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year with a supportive district located in Salem, OR. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct support to students with communication disorders or delays. 

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare.

Caseload: 

  • Full time: 32.5-37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 8:00 - 3:30
  • August 2024 - June 2025
  • K-12th grade caseload
  • Supporting district SLP's with caseload
  • Responsibilities include assisting with assessments, implementing therapy plans, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to support student progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students. Administering standardized tests and informal evaluations to gather information on communication abilities.
  • Collaborating with the SLP to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Implementing therapeutic activities and interventions to address communication goals.
  • Providing direct therapy to students individually or in small groups. Using various techniques and tools to improve communication skills, including speech sounds, language development, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
  • Regularly monitoring and documenting students' progress in meeting communication goals. Communicating with the SLP to adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Working closely with teachers and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments. Providing guidance and strategies for supporting communication development outside of therapy sessions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • SLPA license in Oregon
  • Previous school experience is required
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
