Charter School Speech-Language Pathologist, South Side of Chicago, IL
Chicago, IL
Soliant is collaborating with a charter school network in Chicago, IL, and is seeking a contract Speech-Language Pathologist to work with K-12 students in two campuses on the South Side.
One campus serves a K-6 population; the other is a 7-12 building with a focus on creative arts. This is a great opportunity for SLPs who want to be part of a mission to bring different education models to a sector of the wider community.
Additional information about the school, and the building assignments, will be shared in a direct interview with school administrators, following a successful phone screening with Soliant representatives.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communications Disorders
- Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License, issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Professional Educators' License (PEL), issued by the Illinois State Board of Education
As a school-based SLP, you will:
- Assess students referred for possible speech and language needs.
- Present evaluation results and propose IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals at IEP meetings
- Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions for students with identified speech and language disorders.
- Develop individualized education plans and present them to parents, school administrators, and others involved with student evaluations.
- Consult with teachers, counselors, parents, nurses, and administrators on speech and language concerns.
- Maintain accurate records for all students on the caseload.
- Provide reports of a student’s progress to parents.
- Organize student caseload and develop a schedule for each assigned school.
- Develop resource materials for use in speech and language development.
