Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Belmont, CA. As a Bilingual School SLP, you will play a critical role in providing speech and language services to students who are English language learners. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse student population and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language skills in both English and the target language.
- Provide individual and group therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, targeting areas such as articulation, phonology, language comprehension, and social communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and language intervention plans.
- Support students' language development in both academic and social contexts, including classroom participation and peer interactions.
- Provide consultation and training to teachers and staff on strategies for supporting English language learners with speech and language needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Valid California state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and one or more additional languages commonly spoken by students in the district.
- Previous experience working as an SLP in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to providing culturally responsive services and supporting the needs of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
