Role Overview: As an SLP in Aurora, CO, you will play a crucial role in providing speech and language services to students with special needs. You will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborate with educational teams to integrate speech and language goals into students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and therapy recommendations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, and progress reports
- Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related functions as required
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Valid Colorado state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Minimum of one year of experience working as an SLP in a school or clinical setting
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for speech and language disorders
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
