School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in a Texas school district. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality speech therapy services to students while collaborating with school staff, families, and support teams. This role includes a mix of direct and indirect therapy, supervision of two SLP Assistants (SLPAs), and participation in evaluations and meetings across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities:

Direct Therapy (18 hours/week):
- Provide direct therapy services to 4th and 5th-grade students (ages 9–11).
- Address speech and language disorders, including articulation, language comprehension, and expression.

Indirect Therapy:
- Supervise and support two SLPAs.
- Conduct ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings virtually or in-person as requested by parents.
- Perform evaluations for students on caseload, ranging in age from 4 to 18 years, across multiple campuses (up to seven).

Caseload:
- Direct caseload: Elementary students (4th and 5th grades).
- Indirect caseload: Students aged 4–18 with a variety of speech and language needs, including dyslexia.

Support for SLPAs:
- Oversee therapy provided to students with autism, Down syndrome, TBI, and fluency impairments.

Collaboration:
- Work with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive student support.

Travel & Campus Involvement:
- Based primarily on one elementary campus.
- Travel to additional campuses as needed for evaluations and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Texas.
- Experience working with students with diverse speech and language needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a dynamic caseload.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
