An excellent opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the Yuma, AZ area, supporting K-8 students in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, contract position spans the current school year, from ASAP through May 27, 2026. Working under the supervision of a certified Speech Language Pathologist, the SLPA will contribute to the identification and treatment of students with communication disabilities, ensuring each child receives tailored support to enhance their educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Speech Language Pathologist to identify students with communication disorders.
- Implement treatment plans designed to address specific speech and language challenges affecting students’ academic performance.
- Provide itinerant services across K-8 classrooms, adapting interventions to various grade levels.
- Maintain compliance with all legal and administrative requirements related to special education.
- Support the instructional process through direct interaction with students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona SLPA License.
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required for employment).
- Experience or strong interest in working with K-8 student populations.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload efficiently within a school setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators and support staff.
Location and Schedule:
- Yuma, Arizona.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Onsite position in a K-12 school district.
